Carolyn's Review of Her DVDs

 The episode starts with a recap of the previous episode. Sargeant Michaels (Christopher Michael) releases Mary (Jessica Biel) to her parents.  Sargeant Michaels releases Mary to her parents and tells them they will need a lawyer.  The opening credits come up, and the theme song plays. Matt, Lucy, Simon, and Ruthie are in the living room eating chips and discussing Mary. Ruthie points out that her mother left the house without lipstick, and she always wears it, even for Home Depot. (Good observational skills).  Ruthie: No lipstick is no good. Lucy: I hate to say it, but she's right. Ruthie: You better get used to saying it because I'm older now; I'm in the game. Lucy: What game? Ruthie: The game of life. Ruthie burps and explains she wasn't trying to be a guy, but when she gets nervous, she burps. Simon says he does too.  Eric, Annie, and Mary come in, and the younger children act like they are asleep. Their parents tell them they will talk about it in the ...

  Simon (David Gallagher) goofs around with his friends at school.  Simon is goofing around with the guys at his school, doing "guy things." They are making rude noises and doing armpit farts. Ms. Gordan (Freda Foh Shen) watches, and his mother's car pulls up just as Simon flips a double bird. (That's probably not going to go well for you, Simon).  Ruthie: What's that finger thing mean, anyway? The women's basketball team at the high school is meeting in the hall with Coach Cleary (Kurt Rambis), who is holding a clipboard with all their progress reports. He informs them that despite being warned multiple times, they are still doing poorly academically. He pulls out a chain and padlock and locks the gym, and informs them the basketball season for them is cancelled until they get their grades up and prove they can be responsible.   Lucy is now a licensed driver.  (Catharine Hicks and Beverly Mitchell) Ruthie comes home from school and gets the mail out of the mailbox. A kitten runs over to her, and she picks it up and hugs it. Lucy, Simon, and Mary come inside. Annie asks Lucy how it feels to have her license. Lucy: Fantastic. I love the freedom of driving down the road with the wind in my hair. It's very exhilarating. Mary and Simon complain that Lucy drives so slowly. Lucy says she has to move slowly because Mary sticks her feet out the window. Mary: Hey, I gotta give my dogs some air. Annie: From now on, keep your dogs in the car. Simon: Dogs? Try horses. Annie asks where Ruthie is, and Lucy says she's getting the mail. Annie says she already got it and hands Lucy mail from the DMV. It's her license. She's horrified when she sees her picture. Simon and Mary are blatantly laughing, and Annie is stifling her laugh.  Ruthie comes inside, and Annie apologizes for getting the mail when it's ...
